I don't even
know where to start from because I enjoyed every moment of the audition, the
venue was very cool and nice and the organizers were so on point that they kept
to their word by starting the audition at exactly 11am with the accreditation
of the girls who also came out in their numbers. As expected your one and only
true media house that covers event like no other, Absolute Hearts Media, was duly represented as we are also part of
the official media partners of Miss
Tourism Lagos 2016 which is being organised by MLK Event and Promotion and it is proudly supported by the Ministry Of Tourism, Culture and Arts Lagos
State.
Just like I said
the audition started with the accreditation of the girls which included filling
out their forms and taking their measurement amongst other things, after that it the
girls went to change into their audition outfit before they came out one after the other for individual and group photo-shoot. After all that, they went to
face the judges, as we saw some of the girls smiling away from the judges and
some ending up with tears in their eyes as their emotions went high and that
for me was the icing on the cake. The judges
were astonished in all ways as they were really surprised with the bunch of
talent some of the girls had in them, from acting to singing to dancing down to
even playing basketball, I guess we can agree that the girls were not all about
the beauty, they have the brains too.
Like we normally
do we got to chat with the girls and here are their reactions;
Olubukola: I heard about it through a friend and via
Instagram........the audition was okay and it was fair..............if I
eventually become the winner, I intend to positively impact life and be a
source of inspiration to others, set a good examples that people could follow
and work on some projects that would basically help the less privileged, I guess
that's it...............
Margret: I am here for the audition of Miss Tourism Lagos 2016.........My audition was fine and I am
positive that I would be picked.....my chances of getting pick as part of the
final contestant is 100% I am keeping it 100.......I would like to use the
crown to promote tourism in Lagos and Nigeria in general.....
Veronica: I am here for the Miss Tourism Lagos Beauty Pageantry 2016.......The audition was
okay but it was quite deep if you know what I mean (she smiled)..........I heard
about it through a friend, she is also in this and right now she is my competitor (smiled again) .....The organisers really tired for this, the hospitality was
really cool......

We couldn’t leave
the event not speaking to one of the organisers and we were lucky enough to
have a small interview with the Director of MLK Event And Promotion, Mr Ayo and this was how our conversation
went;
Absolute Hearts: What your name?
Mr. Ayo:
My name is Ayodeji Afola and I am a
director in MLK
Absolute Hearts: Why are we here?
Mr. Ayo: We are here for the audition of Miss Tourism Lagos and this is the First Phase of the event as we
kick starts the activities on our timetable before we do the second phase which
would come up in February 2016.
Absolute Hearts: Who is the main organiser behind this?
Mr. Ayo: The organiser of the event is MLK Event And Promotion
Absolute Hearts: What was the motivation and inspiration behind
this?
Mr. Ayo: Actually we came up with the concept looking at a
lot of tourism potential in Lagos that hasn’t been tapped into and comparing to
what is happening outside, a lot Nigerians travel abroad to have fun because they
are not aware of what we have here so we feel this is an opportunity for us to
showcase what Lagos can offer in terms of tourism.
Absolute Hearts: How has the sponsorship and partnership been, who
are those you are working with?
Mr. Ayo: Well I wouldn’t want to say much on that but we have
a lot of people we are trying to work with for example we are working closely
with the Ministry Of Tourism, Culture
and Arts Lagos State
Absolute Hearts: How do you see the turnout of the girls?
Mr. Ayo: Giving the fact that it is the first phase the turnout
is not that bad and for the second phase we expect more girls so that we can showcase the best for Lagos
because we believe Lagos has a lot to offer.
Absolute Hearts: And how do you intend doing that in terms publicity?
Mr. Ayo: Well we are in partnerships with some blogs like Absolute Hearts (we both smiled) and we
are thinking of doing radio jingles. We are also going to put some of the activities
of today on our website and social media platform like twitter and Instagram.
