Officially, GLO drops Sammie Okposo as brand ambassador after 10 years

Now, it's no news that Globacom is doing a reshuffle of their brand ambassadors. The reshuffle has seen pop stars like P-Square, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Wande Coal and now gospel singer Sammie Okposo dropped as brand ambassadors.

Sammie Okposo took to social media to announce his departure from the company after being an ambassador for 10 years (2006 - 2016). Read below:

‘I’m officially no more a Glo ambassador. Maximum respect, thanks and appreciation to my chairman Sir Dr Mike Adenuga Jnr thank you sir for the opportunity it was a pleasure and a joy to serve as one of your glo ambassadors God bless and keep you sir.’TWALE BABA’. To all the staff of globacom nationwide it was great and exciting meeting and working with you guys fom2006-2016.. 10 Amazing years. It was a good run. God be Praised.’

With the departure of these artistes comes the reveal of Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya, as brand ambassador to the Telco company. Timaya is, as at now, the only artiste brought in as brand ambassador to the brand in the midst of the reshuffle.

On why the brand signed Timaya, GLO in a statement says, ‘Timaya was made a Glo ambassador because of his success in the music industry and for being an inspiration to millions of Nigerian youths, especially in the South-South part of the country where he is popularly known as the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa.
